WEEKLY REVIEW: Kazakhstan modernizes staff training system, prepares to hold EXPO 2017

Regions started harvesting campaigns. The Government reckons on EXPO 2017 projects payback. On Monday, August 11, First Deputy PM of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a elephone conference on the current economic situation issues. National Economy Minister Yerbolat Dossayev reported on the current economic situation and possible risks for Kazakhstan due to western sanctions against Russia and its reciprocal measures. Besides, those attending debated the regions' petroleum logistics supports and fill rate of foodstuff stabilization funds. Sagintayev stressed the need to take measures to ensure smooth functioning of the country's economy and gave certain instructions. "During the 6 years of the charity campaign called "Road to School" more than 8 billion tenge has been raised for preparation of children from socially disadvantaged groups for school," Kazakh Vice Minister of Education and Science Yessengazy Imangaliyev said at a press conference held the same day.. "Material aid worth more than 8 billion tenge was received during the campaign "Road to School". During 6 years more than 2 million children received assistance," he said. According to the Ministry of Education and Science, about 300 thousand Kazakhstani children are in need of financial assistance in the preparation for school. According to rough calculations, to fully prepare for the new school year it is needed from 26 to 65 thousand tenge. on Wednesday President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with Defence Minister Serik Akhmetov. During the meeting Serik Akhmetov reported on systematic work in maintaining the combat readiness of the Armed Forces, spoke about the ongoing organizational and practical measures to increase the combat training of troops, and to equip the army with modern weapons and military technology.

the Head of State stressed the importance of further development of the military-industrial complex and the need to strengthen military-technical cooperation with leading international manufacturers.

Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on issues of ammunition production by Kazakh enterprises. In addition, the President of Kazakhstan instructed Akhmetov to consider aspects of the Ministry's activity taking into account the task of forming compact Government and improving governance.

Following the meeting, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions. On Thursday the National Bank said that July inflation rates reached 0,1%. Foodstuff prices fell by 0,2% while commodity goods became more expensive by 0,3%. At the meeting with officials of the Healthcare and Social Development Ministry held on Thursday reps of the World Bank said the bank will render necessary technical and advisory services to Kazakhstan to form the national qualifications system. The system will let modernize staff training system and provide efficient mechanisms of cooperation of labour market and education system. "9,900 new workplaces have been created in the agro-industrial complex of the Atyrau region since the beginning of the year," governor of the region Baktykozha Izmukhambetov told a Friday meeting. "We have started realizing 44 new projects worth KZT 1 trl 600 bln for the past two months. The part of them is completed, broadly, a milk farm with a capacity of 10,000 liters per day, a goat milk farm, new greeneries, feeding stations, etc. All this let improve the rural demographic situation, reducing youth outflow and increasing people's welfare," he added. Kazakhstan Defense Minister Serik Akhmetov during his working visit to the Russian Federation attended today the 2nd International Exhibition of Arms "Oboronexpo 2014" held in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region. Minister was presented modern armaments and military equipment of Russia manufacture. Oboronexpo 2014 will include two main events, The Third International Forum "Engineering Technologies 2014" and The Second International Expo "Oboronexpo 2014." Russian state industrial corporation Rostec is one of the organizers of the expo.

As part of his working visit to Moscow, Defence Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akmetov met with deputy head of military-industrial commission under the Russian Government Oleg Bochkarev. The talks addressed urgent issues of further integration of defence industry complexes of Kazakhstan and Russia, co-production of special-purpose products. Akhmetov noted potential and readiness of Kazakhstani enterprises to switch their productions, and spoke for participation of Kazakhstan's defence companies in filling of government defence order of Russia.

According to him, joint action plan for military-technical cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia for 2014-2016 will contribute to it.
