What joint business projects Kazakhstan is implementing with China

According to the results of the last year, China took the first place among Kazakhstan's trade partners. The main areas of trade cooperation between the two countries are machine building, metallurgical and chemical industries. What joint business projects are being implemented between Kazakhstan and China are described in the material of the Kazinform News Agency.

As reported in the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China for four months of this year amounted to $9 billion. In 2023, it amounted to $41 billion, with more than half of the volume falling on industrial goods - $22.9 billion.

In 2022, trade turnover amounted to $24.2 billion, with industry accounting for $16.8 billion.

“According to the results of 2023, China ranks first among Kazakhstan's trade partners. If we consider the countries of export of Kazakhstani goods, China takes the 2nd place, after Italy. As for imports of goods, China ranks 1st among Kazakhstan's trade partners," the ministry informed.

The main areas of trade cooperation in industry include machine building, metallurgical and chemical industries, where trade is most active. Kazakhstan's main exports are copper and ferroalloys. The main imports from China are smartphones, cars and computing machines.

Today, 15 joint projects with the creation of more than 5.7 thousand jobs are being implemented between Kazakhstan and China, in particular:

1. Tungsten Concentrate (Zhetysu Tungsten LLP / Jiaxin International Resources Investment S.A R.L), Almaty region - 350 workplaces;

2. Ceramic tiles production plant (Wang Sheng Ceramic LLP / Wenzhou Xuzhan Investment Co. Ltd.), Shymkent - 350 workplaces;

3. Production line of Howo (Ckd) trucks (Saran Trucks LLP / Yutong International Trade Pte.Ltd), Karaganda region - 1000 workplaces;

4. Construction of wind power station (Jasyl Jel Energy LLP / Sao Simao Investment Limited), Akmola region - 2 workplaces;

5. Liquid glass production plant (Hong Shun LLP / Shanghai Jiebolo New Materials Technology LLP), Almaty region - 90 workplaces;

6. Plant for production of energy saving glass (Orda Glass Holding Ltd, China Glass Holding Ltd.), Kyzylorda region - 20 workplaces;

7. Construction of Tekeli metallurgical plant (Tekmet LLP / Shanghai Jiebolo New Materials Technology LLP), Zhetysu Region - 65 workplaces;

8. Production of foam PVC sheets (CA-International / Jiang Zhijian LLP), Almaty - 31 workplaces;

9. Launch of large-unit production of HONGQI cars (SaryarkaAvtoprom LLP), Kostanay region - 50 workplaces;

10. Plant of passenger cars CHERY, CHANGAN, HAVAL (Motor Company Astana-Motors LLP), Almaty – 2,200 workplaces;

11. Creation of livestock breeding complex (AIC BAVARIA PRODUCT LLP), Akmola region - 110 workplaces;

12. Construction of woodworking plant (Universal SM LLP), Abay region - 100 workplaces;

13. Construction of a tile plant (Xinjiang Abu-sahiy Import and Export Trade Co.Ltd.), Almaty region - 177 workplaces;

14. Ceramic ware production plant (stage 1) (Private company CSI BRANDS Ltd. / Huairen Tuobo Porcelain Industry Co., Ltd.), Almaty region - 105 workplaces;

15. Development of tungsten deposit "Aksoran" (ЕSIL-MINING LLP / RESOURCES ENTERPRISE LIMITED), North Kazakhstan Region – 1,000 workplaces.

According to the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the total gross inflow of foreign direct investment into the Republic of Kazakhstan from investors from China amounted to about $25 billion for 2005-2023, including about $2 billion for 2023 and $1.4 billion for 2022.
