What projects are implemented by Samruk-Kazyna Fund

Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna Fund Nurlan Zhakupov revealed what projects are being implement by the holding today, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to him, today Samruk-Kazyna is implementing around 130 projects worth a total of 53 trillion tenge in such areas as energy, oil and gas chemistry, logistics etc.

“This year we have commissioned 4 major projects worth a total of 700 billion tenge. Amont them is building gas infrastructure towards thermal power plants No 2 and No 3 in Almaty and the agglomeration. This project will enable to commission the TPP No2 and TPP No3 in 2026, which will operate on gas, and to significantly improve the environmental situation in Almaty. We also restored and commissioned the first power generation unit of GRES-1 to enhance our energy security and reduce electricity shortage that we observed in previous periods,” said Nurlan Zhakupov. 

Among other projects is the launch of the dry cargo terminal in Xi'an  and the 5th compressor  at the Karachaganak field. According to Nurlan Zhakupov, this project will allow to boost the annual production of hydrocarbons to 10-11 million tons.

Another goal of Samruk-Kazyna is to attract foreign investments. As Nurlan Zhakupov said, most of the Fund’s investment projects are implemented in collaboration with foreign partners from Germany, South Korea, France, the U.S., Russia, China, UAE, Qatar etc.

Earlier, Kazinform reported that Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund paid 1.3 trillion tenge to the budget in 2024.
