When will Kazakhstan commission three new TPPs
According to the Ministry of Energy, Kazakhstan will own the three thermal power plants being built in three cities now, Kazinform News Agency reports.
“Kokshetau, Semey and Ust-Kamenogorsk cities are building now thermal power plants, set to be gradually commissioned by 2032. These TPPs will be owned by the daughter companies of JSC Samruk Energy and JSC Samruk Kazyna,” the Ministry says.
The TPP in Kokshetau will be fully commissioned in 2029. The TPP in Ust-Kamenogorsk will be put into operation in 2031, and the TPP in Semey will be commissioned in 2032.
Earlier, Kazinform reported that Kazakhstan plans to attract $20 billion of investments to modernize the existing TPPs and public utility facilities.
A 215 billion tenge worth thermal power plant is under construction in Kyzylorda region now.
