WHO Director General urges Israel to restore power, water and fuel supplies to Gaza
WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged Israel and HAMAS to follow the principles of public international law and protect civil population, Kazinform Agency reports.
Addressing the global conference on primary health care in the Kazakh capital he said the WHO is deeply concerned about health and wellbeing of civil population in Gaza.
He added the WHO was among the first to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza through Egypt.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he supports the UN Secretary General’s calling for ceasefire. He also urged to release hostages taken in Gaza by HAMAS and other armed groups as there are children and other people among them who need urgent medical assistance.
The WHO Director General called Israel and HAMAS to follow the principles of public international law and provide them with necessary assistance. He also urged Israel to restore water, power and fuel supplies to Gaza.
