Whole world knows Kazakhstan as dynamically developing country: Canadian FA Minister John Baird

ASTANA. November 13. KAZINFORM - Majilis has carried out a meeting between the Chairman of the House Nurlan Nigmatulin and the Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird Russel, the press service of the Majilis reports.

Noting that Canada is an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin emphasized the need to develop meaningful and lasting relationships with Canada.

In this case the Chairman of the Majilis focused on the fact that our country, implementing the President's strategy "Kazakhstan-2050", is interested in expanding cooperation in trade and economy, investment partnership, agriculture, nuclear industry as well as in the field of innovation and "green" technologies.

John Baird, in turn, noted the progress made by our state over the years of independence.

"The whole world knows Kazakhstan as a dynamically developing country and your President Nursultan Nazarbayev is known as a leader in the issues of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons", said John Baird.
The two sides exchanged views on international issues including the settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.

A separate topic of conversation was the inter-parliamentary cooperation, in particular, the expansion of relations with the Senate and the House of Commons of Canada.

The Chairman of the Majilis and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada expressed confidence in further strengthening the Kazakh-Canadian relations including inter-parliamentary component.
