Świątek dominates at WTA singles finals

The 2024 Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals,  organized by the Saudi Tennis Federation, supervised by the Ministry of Sport and sponsored by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), continued on Sunday in Riyadh, SPA reported.

At King Saud University, two doubles matches took place. Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe defeated Hao-Ching Chan and Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova in straight sets. Italy’s Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini beat Americans Desirae Krawczyk and Caroline Dolehide in three sets.

In the Singles Category, Poland's Iga Świątek secured a win over Czech player Barbora Krejčíková, triumphing in a three-set match in the opening Orange Group encounter. Moreover, American Coco Gauff defeated her compatriot Jessica Pegula in straight sets.

American Coco Gauff said staying focused was key to her win, and that her commitment to improvement fueled her performance.
