Woman allegedly sells son for $1000 to married couple in S Kazakhstan

ASTANA. October 30. KAZINFORM A resident of southern Kazakhstan sold her son to a married couple in Almaty, official spokesperson of the Kazakh Ministry of Internal Affairs Nurdilda Oraz said.

"The 40-year-old woman was detained in Almaty on a suspicion of selling her newborn son to a married couple for only $1000 (KZT 150 000)," Mr. Oraz told a weekly briefing in Astana.

According to him, the woman and the married couple were released from custody on condition not to leave the city.
