Women's NGOs in civil sector development
sp;ATYRAU. November 10. KAZINFORM. /Andrei Sokolov/ A seminar on the role of women's nongovernmental organizations in establishment and development of Kazakhstan's civil sector was held in Atyrau at the initiative of "Zherles" Public Fund.
The participants analyzed the state programs to find out whether they correspond to the constitutional equality between men and women. They noted that women often have their constitutional rights derogated.
Expert on gender affairs Gulnar Yessirgepova said it was possible to introduce temporary measures aimed at promoting establishment of equality between men and women. These measures will give women advantages in career advancement, nomination to elective bodies, employment and getting education. "In this context women's nongovernmental organization should play the most important role", the expert added.
