Work of UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia necessary for region: K.Tokayev

ASTANA. March 16. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Miroslav Jenca today, the press service of the House reports.

The sides exchange views on the further cooperation development between Kazakhstan, UN and the structural bides of the Organization.

Appraising the activity of the Regional Center the Kazakh Speaker emphasized that the Center was and effective institution in the UN system.

Complimenting the active character of interaction between the UN and Kazakhstan K.Tokayev said that Kazakhstan fully supported the activity of the Center opened by the initiative of President N.Nazarbayev.

According to the Speaker, the work f the Center is necessary for Centrals Asian region due to the challenges and threats existing in the region.

The interlocutors also addressed the situation in Kyrgyzstan.
