World Bank impressed with Kazakhstan's reforms to ease doing business during crisis

ASTANA. November 10. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ The World Bank is impressed with the reforms to facilitate doing business, conducted by Kazakhstan during the global financial crisis. The World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Motu Konishi said it on Wednesday.

"Over the past 12 months the Government of Kazakhstan implemented a number of measures on the ease of doing business. These results showed the Government's commitment to improving business environment, including business registration, building permits, investor protection. But the most impressive is that Kazakhstan has managed to conduct such reforms during the economic crisis. Moreover, while implementing the anti-recessionary program Kazakhstan also managed to improve the business environment. We congratulate the Government of Kazakhstan", Mr. Motu Konishi emphasized.

He reminded that the World Bank, as Kazakhstan's partner in several reforms, provided support in implementation of reforms in specific areas in order to prevent the negative consequences of the crisis in Kazakhstan.
