World needs single currency ? Iran?s President
ASTANA. April 7. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ ?World financial system should become fair?, President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at the press conference in the Astana Rixos Hotel yesterday.
?Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev?s initiative on creation of a single world currency is a good and right proposal. The world should have a real and equitable single currency. We also welcome the proposal on creation of regional currencies. During the summit in Iran we included this issue in the final document and backed it. Undoubtedly it is necessary to prepare infrastructure and background for further creation of the single currency. It is significant to create a fair international financial system, where the single currency could properly function?, M. Ahmadinejad stated.
According to the Iranian President, today?s world economy based on the dollar ? a flat currency ? is false and leads to worsening of economic conditions in the majority of countries. ?The crisis has revealed weakness and vulnerability of such economy?, he said.
