XDS Astana's Scaroni takes second, Charmig and Champoussin in Top-10 at Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana
Another one-day race took place in Spain – Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969. Riders tackled a challenging 184-kilometer route with three climbs, Kazinform News Agency cites the XDS Astana Team's official website.

On the final climb of the day, 10 kilometers from the finish, XDS Astana Team's Christian Scaroni launched an attack along with three other riders. The group managed to gain a small advantage over the rest of the peloton.
A few kilometers before the finish, Scaroni attacked again, but this move was covered by Swiss rider Marc Hirschi. In the sprint, Hirschi claimed the victory, while XDS Astana Team rider finished second.
In the sprint from the chasing group, two more XDS Astana Team riders secured places in the top ten: Anthon Charmig finished 6th, and Clément Champoussin 7th.
"Today, the whole team worked great and supported me, so I was able to take a very good position before the final climb. When the attacks started, I managed to follow them, and eventually, we were down to four riders at the top, and then three. Later, I tried to attack again because Marc Hirschi was in our group, and he’s faster than me in the sprint. Still, Hirschi caught me before the finish, and in the sprint, I gave it everything I had but ended up second. The strongest rider won. In any case, I’m happy with how today went and this weekend as a whole. I think the team spirit has grown stronger after the good results we’ve achieved, and we’re moving forward in great spirits", – said Christian Scaroni.
