Year of Kazakhstan in Germany comes to end

BERLIN.  December 11. KAZINFORM  /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev participated yesterday in a reception dedicated to the Closure of the Year of Kazakhstan in Germany which was held at the House of World Culture in Berlin.

Presidents of Kazakhstan and Germany had sent letters of welcome to the participants of the reception.

Taking the floor  Kanat Saudabayev  noted that the agreements directed on strengthening mutual understanding between the nations reached by N. Nazarbayev and H. Kohler take their root in September 2008. Today the Year of Kazakhstan and Germany comes to an end.

The guests were also informed of the activities held for the first time in the West European countries (19 political, 27 economic and 54 cultural-humanitarian ones) played an important role in rapprochement and strengthening of the nations' cooperation.

"In the course of the OSCE chairmanship in 2010 Kazakhstan would develop the process of disarmament, rapprochement of West and East", K. Saudabayev stressed.

The ceremony ended with a concert during which the German audience enjoyed performance of prominent figures of Kazakh culture and art.
