Year of Tourism 2023 SCO Forum underway in Urumqi

The Year of Tourism 2023 SCO Forum kicked off on November 23 in Urumqi bringing together officials from the SCO member states, partner and observer states, representatives of international organizations, heads of tourism administrations, national tourist companies, Kazinform Agency reports.

Four thematic sections are planned at the forum, including panel sessions, business meetings between tourist companies and business circles, and a trip around the natural and cultural attractions of the XUAR.

As earlier reported, 2023 was announced as the SCO Year of Tourism by the Heads of State at a meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council held in Samarkand.

The main goal of the forum is to help develop the SCO tourism sector, develop projects between groups of member states, and form a common tourism space.
