Yermek Marzhikpayev named Advisor to Prime Minister of Kazakhstan
Yermek Marzhikpayev, former minister of tourism and sport, has been appointed advisor to the prime minister of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the press service of the Kazakh Government.
Born in 1969, in Astana, Yermek Marzhikpayev is a graduate of the Seifullin Akmola State Pedagogical Institute, Turan University and Kokshetau University.
He began his career in 1991 as a sports teacher.
In 2008-2012, he was the Governor of Arshaly district of Akmola region.
From 2012 to 2023, he was the Governor of Zerendi district of Akmola region
From 2013 to 2014, he worked as Deputy Governor of Akmola region.
In 2014-2015, he was a state inspector at the State Control Department of the President's Executive Office.
From 2015 to 2015, Yermek Marzhikpayev was the Mayor of Kokshetau, the administrative center of Akmola region.
In March 2019, he was appointed the Governor of Akmola region.
On September 2, 2023, by a presidential decree, he was appointed the Minister of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan.
On February 6, 2024, by a presidential decree, he was reappointed as the Minister of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, he was relieved of the duties of the Minister of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan.
