Youtube Premium service to be launched in Kazakhstan in 2024

Minister of Digital Development Bagdat Mussin explained why YouTube Premium service is still not available for Kazakhstani users, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Youtube belongs to Google. They take a decision based on economic factors. This does not depend either on geopolitical or other issues, but economic factors, according to the Minister.

Mussin named two reasons. The first one is insufficient number of users in Kazakhstan and lack of agreements with Kazakhstani authors.

According to him, the ministry held talks with a representative of Google, who promised that the service will be available in 2024.

Kazakhstan fulfilled all the conditions from its side. Currently, there are no issues related to Kazakhstan’s legislation or political aspects which must be addressed, he said.
