YouTube purchases gamers' video platform Twitch for $1 billion - media
LOS ANGELES. KAZINFORM - US-based YouTube owned by Google Corp. is set to spend $1 billion to acquire a video platform for gamers Twitch, Variety magazine reported on Sunday.

According to the publication, the agreement on the acquisition has already been reached. In case the US Department of Justice approves the deal, the bespoken sum would be paid in cash. Twitch video platform allows directly broadcasting videogames in the course of passing them. It has more than 45 million users. The application is pre-installed on consoles of the latest generation - Sony Playstation IV and Xbox One, Itar-Tass reports. According to the Variety, the acquisition will be announced in the nearest time. Meanwhile, both companies declined to comment the reports.
