Yulia Putintseva knocked out in doubles first-round match at Australian Open 2025

Kazakhstani Yulia Putintseva and China’s Wang Xiyu failed to secure a spot in the ladies’ doubles next round at the now-running Australian Open 2025, Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.

The duo lost to Chinese pair Zheng Saisai and Wang Xinyu from China in their first-round match 2:6, 6:3, 5:7. Notably, they were tied 1:1 in the first set before their match was postponed due to rain.

As earlier reported, on January 16 World No.23 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan defeated China’s Zhang Shuai who is ranking 204th in the world at the 2025 Australian Open Round 2 with a score of 6:2, 6:1 to progress to Round 3ю
