Yulia Putintseva upset in Adelaide International semifinals in Australia

World No. 25 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan failed to cruise into the Adelaide International finals in Australia, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.

After cruising into the tournament’s semifinals, the Kazakhstani tennis player was defeated by world No. 7 Jessica Pegula with a score of 6:7 (4:7), 3:6.

Kazakhstan’s Putintseva moved up to the 23rd spot in the WTA rankings, earning the best result in her career.

As reported earlier, Yulia Putintseva set a record after victory in the Adelaide International quarterfinals in Australia.

Recall that three Kazakhstani tennis players including Mikhail Kukushkin, Dmitry Popko, and Timofey Skatov upset in the qualifying round of the Australian Open 2025.
