Yulia Putintseva's victory propels Kazakhstan to 2025 Billie Jean King Cup qualification

Team Kazakhstan has defeated the South Korean team, reaching the qualifying round of the Billie Jean King Cup, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.

World No. 29 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan hauled the game point by winning Ku Yeon Woo (ranked 418th) with a score of 6-4, 7-5.

Yulia's latest singles victory marks her 20th in this category, further consolidating her lead in the national team. Putintseva has already played 31 matches for the Kazakh team, just one shy of Galina Voskoboeva's record.

Earlier, in the final match of the tournament, Anna Danilina (ranked 895th) and Zhibek Kulambayeva (ranked 328th) were beaten by the Korean duo of Ku Yeon Woo (ranked 418th) and Kim Dabin (ranked 331st) in three sets with a score of 3:6, 6:4, 7:10.

The 2025 Billie Jean King Cup qualification round is scheduled to begin in April.

Recall that Elena Rybakina secured Kazakhstan's second victory in the Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs against Team South Korea, while Zarina Diyas defeated Dayeon Back (ranked 331st) with a score of 3:6, 6:3, 7:6.
