Zenit St Petersburg confirms goalkeeper wife dies in road accident

ST. PETERSBURG. March 17. KAZINFORM The Zenit St. Petersburg football club confirmed that the wife of Zenit's goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeyev died in a road accident. The Zenit backup goalkeeper Yuri Zhevnov will substitute Malafeyev in the home match against Holland's Twente in the UEFA Europa League 1/8 playoff round on Thursday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

Marina, the wife of the goalkeeper of the Russian football national team and Zenit St. Petersburg, Vyacheslav Malafeyev, died in a road accident in St. Petersburg. The road accident occurred on the Primorskoye highway early on Thursday morning, a source in the city traffic police said. A Bentley car rammed into the billboard at the high speed and overthrew thrown away at a distance of about 150 meters.

Two people were inside the car. The female driver died instantaneously and the man was brought to the Military Medical Academy.
