Zenit St Petersburg confirms goalkeeper wife dies in road accident

Marina, the wife of the goalkeeper of the Russian football national team and Zenit St. Petersburg, Vyacheslav Malafeyev, died in a road accident in St. Petersburg. The road accident occurred on the Primorskoye highway early on Thursday morning, a source in the city traffic police said. A Bentley car rammed into the billboard at the high speed and overthrew thrown away at a distance of about 150 meters.

Two people were inside the car. The female driver died instantaneously and the man was brought to the Military Medical Academy. The dead woman was identified as Marina Igorevna Malafeyeva, who was born in 1974. The survived man is Dmitry Rybakov, a member of the music band M-16, which Marina Malafeyeva promoted. Rybakov was hospitalized in severe condition, the M-16 PR director told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
