Zhambyl region begins additional mass vaccination against measles

The additional mass vaccination against measles has begun in Zhambyl region, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

According to the sanitary epidemiological control department of Zhambyl region, the additional mass immunization against measles has begun in the region starting from November 7. The region has seen 40-50 measles cases daily over the past week, with most cases reported among unvaccinated people.

As of today, vaccines against measles have been received by 34 thousand people, Baidilda Shynaliyev, head of the sanitary epidemiological control department of Zhambyl region, said.

The speaker added that unvaccinated children account for 83% of the total people infected with measles in the region.
