Zhambyl region’s industrial output has reached 727.8 billion tenge since early 2024, Kazinform News Agency quotes governor Yerbol Karashukeyev as saying at a briefing today.

According to him, since the year beginning, the region’s short-term economic growth has made 104.5%, primarily due to 0.8% growth in industry, 22.6% increase in construction sector, 3.6% rise in housing commissioning, 2.5% growth in trade, 13.6% rise in transport sector and 8.8% increase in communications.

“19% of the region’s economy is ensured by industrial production, and 65.4% - by processing sector. 46,000 people are employed at the local 891 enterprises, of which 17 are large ones, 25 are medium-sized companies, and 849 are small businesses,” the governor said.

In his words, the region’s industrial output amounted to 717.8 billion tenge since the year beginning.

The region manufactures 28% of the products of the entire country’s chemical industry. Local chemical enterprises produce 100% of phosphorus, and 81% of mineral fertilizers. The region has 48 phosphate rock deposits with the reserves totalling 13 billion tons.

"By 2030, we plan to manufacture up to 1 million tons of premium minerals and high-value added products. For this purpose we plan to attract up to $1 billion," the governor added.
