Zhambyl region’s Multifunctional Hospital marks its 150th anniversary this year.

Built in 1873, this is the oldest healthcare institution in Taraz.

150 years ago, it was just an Emergency Room with six beds only. A doctor, a nurse and a midwife received the patients there.

Today the Multifunctional Hospital of Zhambyl region provides 24/7 emergency and planned hospital treatment, highly-qualified and high-technological care, diagnostic and preventive services. The modern hospital unites the Regional Hospital, Cancer Centre and the Regional Perinatal Center. 1,190 employees are working in 27 units. These are the units of cardiology, cardiac surgery, rheumatology, hematology, endocrinology, vascular surgery, proctology, neonatology, surgery, pathological pregnancy, general surgery etc. Tens of thousands of patients undergo treatment here every year.
