Zhanaozen open for int'l observers, Kazakh FM

ASTANA. December 19. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan authorities act straightforwardly and have no intentions to hinder journalists and international observers' work," Kazakh Foreign Affairs Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov told RIA Novosti news agency on Monday.

"From the beginning we have been maintaining the transparency of the situation in Zhanaozen. A large group of home and foreign journalists representing Reuters, AP, RIA Novosti and others is staying there. They make reports and follow the situation. There are no problems," the Minister said.

As for the international observers, with a view to the OSCE and other international organizations concern, the Minister stressed, they would also be given such an opportunity.
