Zhaulybai batyr was a commander-in-chief of the home guard of the Ulytau district. In spring 1747 Sultan Barak organized a mission for establishment of relations with the Russian emperor. According to the memorials of a past age, Zhaulybai batyr was born in 1697. Zhaulybai batyr mastered the art of war long before a decisive battle with the Dzhungars in 1762. Zhaulybai Otegenuly died in one of the liberation battles against the Dzhungars. Zhaulybai Otegenuly is one of the great persons of our nation.
