Zhetysu region’s budget rises 1.6fold in 2024

Zhetysu region overfulfilled the plan on the key economic development indicators in 2024, Kazinform News Agency quotes Governor Beibit Issabayev as saying at a briefing in the Central Communications Service today.

He said that in 11 months of 2024, short-term economic indicator made 112.3%.

“All indicators have been achieved. I believe that by the end of the year, we will reach all the targets set,” he said.

In his words, growth is observed in agriculture – 3.7%, industry – 3.6%, and housing commissioning – 4.4%. Construction and trade sectors demonstrate 1.4fold and 1.3fold increase respectively.

According to him, since the year beginning, the region has attracted 396 billion tenge of investments (+38%), including private investments to the amount of 291 billion tenge. In general, state budget received 286 billion tenge, while local budget rose by 1.6fold and reached 106 billion tenge.

This year, Zhetysu region's farmers harvested 872,000 tons of grain crops, 195,000 tons of oil-seed crops, 266,000 tons of vegetable and melon crops, and 132,000 of potato.

The region focuses on the development of sugar production. The Aksu Sugar Plant has been overhauled and commissioned. This year, sugar beet sown area was expanded by 1.7 times and has reached 13,700 hectares, with 635,000 tons of products gathered. The two sugar plants are set to produce 94,000 tons of sugar, including 64,000 tons from sugar beet, and 30,000 tons from sugar cane.

The governor also informed about growth in cattle-breeding as well as meat and milk production. In 2024-2026, the region plans to implement 31 investment projects worth 33.2 billion tenge, with 13 projects commissioned this year.

On December 12-13, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a working visit to Zhetysu region.
