Zhibek Kulambayeva reaches her 2nd consecutive final in Punta Cana

World No. 384 Zhibek Kulambayeva cruised into the Women’s Singles finals at the ITF Dominican Republic 10A in Punta Cana, Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.

The Kazakh tennis player faced Italy's Lara Pfeifer (ranked 593th) in the Women’s Singles. Kulambayeva defeated the Italian athlete in two sets with a score of 7:5, 7:6. Zhibek Kulambayeva will be vying vs Karina Miller in the final bout.

It was earlier reported that paired with Indian Sahaja Yamalapalli, Zhibek Kulambayeva stunned Colombia’s Maria Herazo Gonzalez and Francesca Pace of Italy in the Women’s Doubles semifinal. Kulambayeva and Yamalapalli won the bout in two sets with a score of 6:4, 6:4. Thus, Kazakh-Indian duo advanced to the Women’s Doubles finals.

The ITF Dominican Republic 10A, Women Singles consists of random number of rounds. The player with the most wins becomes the champion of the competition.
