Clean Kazakhstan campaign brings together over 5.83 mln people
Taza Qazaqstan (Clean Kazakhstan) ecological campaign initiated by the Head of State drew the participation of over 5.83 million people across the country from March through to November, Kazinform News Agency reports citing Primeminister.kz.
Over 1,159,000 tons of waste was collected, over 1,609,000 trees were planted as part of the campaign involving state bodies, volunteers, public and private organizations.
Besides, district ecology departments and local authorities eliminated multiple unauthorized dumping grounds. 482 vehicles were inspected, 105 violations of ecological standards were detected. 96 drivers were fined.
One of the highlights of the eco campaign is the development of the digital platform @TazaQazBot to submit public complaints about the environment. 7,929 complaints were sent so far with the most concerning cleaning of grounds, domestic garbage disposal, street maintenance and reconditioning of roads.
As written before, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev joined a clean-up event in one of the districts of the Kazakh capital held on Saturday, April 27, as part of the nationwide Taza Qazaqstan campaign.
