Kazakhstan bags silver at World Weightlifting Championships 2024

Kazakh weightlifter Alexey Churkin won a silver medal in the men’s 81 kg finals at the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships underway in Bahrain, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the National Olympic Committee.

He totaled 368 kg in snatch/clean & jerk to take home silver.

Ri Chong Song of North Korea lifted 361 kg in total to win gold. Mukhammadkodir Toshtemirov took bronze with a total of 355 kg (165+190).

Another Kazakh weightlifter Alexander Uvarov finished fifth lifting a total of 351 kg (160+191).
