Kazakhstan resumes grain exports to Iran and Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan strengthens its position in the international grain markets, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry.
According to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company, 10.6 million tons of grain were shipped in 2024, including 8.1 million tons for exports.
Kazakhstan exported 3.3 million tons to Uzbekistan, 1.7 million tons to China, 1.2 million tons to Tajikistan that is 20% more compared to 2023, and 140,000 tons to Kyrgyzstan that is 1.9 times more against 2023.
Besides, Kazakhstan resumed grain exports to Iran and Azerbaijan. Exports to Iran doubled to 526,000 tons and deliveries to Azerbaijan grew by 1.8 times up to 211,000 tons.
5 million tons of grain were shipped in September -December 2024 that is 50% more compared to the same period of 2023. Exports rose by 57% to make 3.9 million tons, including 1.5 million tons to Uzbekistan, 633,000 to Tajikistan, 190,000 to Afghanistan and 592,000 to China.
Kazakhstan’s exports to Iran skyrocketed by 30 times to 455,000 tons, while 188,000 tons were shipped to Azerbaijan.
As written before for the past three years Kazakhstan’s grain exports to China grew by 5.7 times.
