National Book contest kicks off in Kazakhstan
The republican contest Ulttyq Kitap (National Book) initiated by the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry kicked off on the eve of the National Book Day, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The contest aims to maintain the reading culture, promote Kazakh literature and spirituality, reveal the best authors, and support and encourage translators, publishers, and book designers.
The finalists will be announced in the following 10 nominations:
The Best Children’s Book
The Best Comics
The Best Nonfiction Book
The Best Detective
The Best Illustrated Book
The Best Translated Book
The Best Fantasy Book
The Best Publishing House
The Book of the Year Grand Prix
The application materials should be submitted from January 15 to April 1, 2025.
