Snow leopard family caught on video in Kolsay Lakes National Park

Camera traps have recorded footage of a snow leopard mother and her three grown cubs roaming the terrain of the Kolsay Lakes National Park in southeast Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

A snow leopard mother and her three grown cubs have been caught in the Kolsay Lakes National Park. Such a large family of snow leopards is rare, and this indicates a good condition of their natural habitat. Each step of these graceful predators is clear evidence that conservation efforts are bearing fruit, said the press service of the Committee of Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is committed to protecting snow leopards as their population remains at risk due to habitat loss and poaching.

Such footage offer hope that teamwork among scientists and national parks may save these extraordinary predators, it added.

A snow leopard was caught on camera in the Katon-Karagay National Park in East Kazakhstan.
