"My visit to your country today is an expression of our shared desire to strengthen our friendly ties and cooperation between Guinea-Bissau and Kazakhstan. You have decided to establish connections with African countries so that together we can develop joint ways to strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstan and Africa... I join these prospects and would like to assure you that Guinea-Bissau also wants to contribute to strengthening our relations so that we can achieve common goals, especially within the framework of our bilateral cooperation," Umaro Sissoco Embaló said during the meeting with the Kazakh President in the Akorda presidential residence.

He noted that Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau are currently working together within the framework of international platforms, namely at the UN.

"Today, the international situation poses many challenges between us, and in fact, we must cement international cooperation as it will allow us to resolve conflicts peacefully. We share the same ambitions with you and want to introduce necessary reforms in international organizations to enhance democratic participation,” noted the President of Guinea-Bissau, adding that his country and Kazakhstan should also work at the level of the UN Security Council.

He noted that Kazakhstan had accumulated extensive experience in achieving sustainable development goals, particularly in the rational use of natural resources and the implementation of economic and social policies.

"We want to maintain economic and trade exchanges on mutually beneficial terms, particularly in the sphere of agriculture, energy, digital technologies, the use of hydrocarbons, and resources in general. We also pay special attention to training and education, and we would like students from Guinea-Bissau to have access to higher educational and technical institutions in Kazakhstan,” said Umaro Sissoco Embaló. He proposed to look into that opportunity together with President Tokayev.

Earlier Kazinform News Agency reported that the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had welcomed the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, in the Akorda presidential residence.
