Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the current situation related to the passenger plane crash near Aktau, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to the prime minister’s press service, the President was informed about the governmental commission’s work on investigating into Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash cause and provision of assistance to the survivors.

More than 430 employees and approximately 80 units of specialized vehicles and equipment are involved into the emergency-rescue works.

29 people were hospitalized.

Foreign nationals and families of victims are receiving necessary assistance, including from the government of Azerbaijan.

The President tasked to keep the work with survivors under special control and provide necessary assistance to the governments of neighboring countries.

On Wednesday, December 25, the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, which was operating a flight en route Baku-Grozny, crashed today morning near Kazakhstan's Aktau city. 69 people including 5 crew members were onboard. 29 including 2 children were hospitalized

The list of the passengers has been released. 37 are the nationals of Azerbaijan, 6 from Kazakhstan, 3 from Kyrgyzstan, and 16 citizens of the Russian Federation were onboard the plane.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Azerbaijan, who cut short his trip to Russia and returned to Baku.
